Most of the usual High Street stores can be found here, including Marks and Spencer, Next, Monsoon, Top Shop, Laura Ashley and Waterstones, and there are plenty of local shops to choose from as well. There’s lots of choice of cafes and coffee shops, including Costa and Starbucks for those who miss the big brand names and market days are on Tuesday and Friday.

Newport is probably the best place on the Isle of Wight for entertainment. Theatre, comedy, music, dance and film can all be seen at the Quay Arts Centre as well as an art gallery and cafĂ© during the day. There are also 2 other small theatres: Medina Theatre and Apollo Theatre which offer a selection of music, comedy and drama. There’s a multiplex cinema showing all the latest box office hits and plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants for those looking for a lively night out.
