Island Line train arriving in Shanklin

Island line trains operate a scheduled service serving towns on the East coast of the Isle of Wight. Using old London Undergound trains, it runs twice an hour, and takes about half an hour from Ryde to Shanklin, which is the end of the line. The train service is designed to meet up with the Wightlink Catamaran at Ryde Pier Head, so in fact it’s possible to buy a train ticket from any station on the UK mainland, via Portsmouth Harbour station, through to one of the Isle of Wight stations. The ticket includes the ferry service, which makes things very simple. The train stops at the following Isle of Wight towns: Ryde, Brading, Sandown, Lake, Shanklin
