A taste of the exotic in Ventnor

Botanical Gardens, Ventnor, Isle of Wight

Botanical Gardens, Ventnor, Isle of Wight

Situated just outside Ventnor, and set under a cliff with a south facing position, the Isle of Wight’s botanical garden has a unique microclimate which protects it from severe frosts. Many of the plant species which grow here are subtropical and more exotic than you’d find in your average UK garden. See the spectacular echium with their blue and purple spires in the Mediterranean garden. Or visit the South African terraces for a colourful display which goes on virtually throughout the year.
